A few months back I had the good fortune to be introduced to Victor & The Rain Dog.
I've seen them live three times now and they've never disappointed. They are Victor Marichal, David Payne and Adam Hayes and their music has been described as Carnival Rock and Urban Storytelling.
Bit fatigued with your iTunes songs? Spotify browsing proving a bit fruitless? Victor & The Rain Dog should help get your musical juices flowing.
Good news. They've just dropped a brand new video for the track Anchor & Hope from the Victor & The Rain Dog EP. It's every bit as striking and original as can be expected and brings this impressive track to life.
Shot and directed by director Jamie Jones, the video was filmed in the seaside Essex village of Jaywick - once a popular holiday destination in the 1930s but now sadly recognised one of the most deprived areas of Britain and a place clearly down on its luck but fascinating all the same.
The video features local residents who kindly agreed to be part of the project and the result is an evocative and poignant video. The haunting coastal backdrop provides the perfect setting to Anchor & Hope, one of my favourite tracks from the EP.
It's gorgeous. Not checking it out will be a musical travesty. I suggest you do it now.
